Mac Pro Superdrive?

I know there are reports of two different types of drives being shipped in the Mac Pros. My Mac Pro has a single drive right now, does it matter which model I go with if I want to add a second drive? The sony is a little more expensive, but is there a reason they are using it? Thanks.
