Newbie to MacRumors forums here... but I thought I might post up to see if anyone here has any ideas for me.

I picked up a 4,1 Mac Pro that have been "upgrade" to a 5,1 Mac Pro. It runs fine so far and is an upgrade from my MacBook Pro I was using.

But I am running into a strange issue with my Mitsubishi 55" monitor (LDT551V Display). I have to have the brightness turned down to about 50% if I doing lots of video editing otherwise the Mitsu monitor will start throwing Temperature Warnings. I am just surfing the web, etc I can have the brightness higher before I get temperature warnings.

I had my early 2009 MBP hooked up to the same monitor for years (using the same mini display port to HDMI cable) and it never had an issue at all.

The video card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB graphics

HAs anyone run into this before? Can a video card drive a monitor too hot?
