I decided to reapply the paste to my 2009 2.66Ghz CPU - before the application the CPU was running around 28c, after the application its now 32c on idle.

I applied a very thin layer, perhaps too thin ? then screwed the 3mm hex screws in no particular order. Thinking about it, perhaps I should have tightened them up like a car wheel (opposites) ?

Its the first time I've applied paste to a lidded CPU, I usually apply a thin layer to a lidless cpu and then bed the heatsink onto the paste (which you can't do on a mac pro).

Any tips on this will be much appreciated!

P.S the paste is Arctic Silver 5

Break-in period for Arctic Silver 5: 200 hours (Break-in period will occur during normal use.)
Temps will drop several degrees over the break-in period.
