Hello, I had this in the mac pro forum, but we've done enough troubleshooting to pin the blame on HS. I got a Mac Pro 3,1 with dual QC 2.8 Xeons, 16GB RAM, a 250GB WD HDD with a 64mb cache, and a 512MB 8800GT. It's a clean dosdude1 install. This issue doesn't happen with El Crap, but seems to be a HS issue. When I let the machine sleep, I get the normal "breathing" from the power light, then randomly, the unit will "wake" (no wake reason in the log, or even any indication that it woke.) The vid card fan will spin up, and after about 5 seconds, everything is silent after the telltale power supply click that the unit is sleeping again. It appears to happen every hour, and I only notice it when it wakes me at night. I even went so far as to power down the unit by pressing and holding the power button until click, and no light, but hours later, the unit did the same thing. (I don't know if it went back to "breathing," because I yanked the power cord.) When I switched it back to El Crap, the symptom went away. I'm not entirely sure if it's happening every hour, but the first time I experienced it was at 10:30pm, 11:30pm, and 1:30am. The second time was the next night, at 10:39pm. I'm not sure if it was doing it otherwise because I was asleep. Any ideas?

Have you checked to see if Power Nap is enabled under System Preferences » Energy Saver? That is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear about a Mac periodically coming out of sleep mode, aside from wake on LAN, which it looks like you've already checked, judging from the other thread.

In the past I've had an issue where my system would wake from sleep, sort of randomly.
Finally solved it, in my case I had the computer plugged into a source that also supplied a small freezer, and when the freezer cycled on, my system would wake from sleep. Something to do with power surges-fluctuations maybe?
Separating the power source solved it for me.

It looks as if power nap isn't supported.

That's a good one. I don't think that that's the case here, since the cMP is the largest draw on that electrical circuit, but I'll probably hook it up to a different battery backup this weekend.
