Mac pro ugrading system

Hello all. In the market getting a new Mac Pro. I want to get the most robust system that Apple has to offer all the bells and whistles as I do 3D works, graphics etc...

My question is what will be my best choice for external hard drives (RAID) as I have 4 TB on my system now via built in SATA Drives plus I have a drawer of drives of approx 4tb.

It would be great if there was an instructional video or PDF file to give designers like me the Upgrade processes.
