I have a macbook and a macpro that have wireless capability. I have both computers right next to each other and and when i pull up the network list my mac pro only shows 1 network. my macbook shows 10 networks... whats the deal with that and how can i get my mac pro to recognize all of the other networks that are around?

Airport Extreme Specs:

Macbook
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x87)
Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: 1.3.4

Mac Pro
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x87)
Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (4.170.46.7)

Did you install the card yourself? If so, did you attach both antenna leads? Anyway, maybe it's worth a shot to pop open the case and make sure the antennas are connected.

It should look something like this:

The Macbook will have better reception due to the fact that it isn't housed in a Faraday Cage.

yeah, that metal really seems to hamper reception.

don't the even use the same module or something?

Apple sells an external antenna for the mac pro I believe. That should eliminate any reception problems.

You can go really nuts and buy wireless cards with external antennas or USB Wi-Fi modules that have external antennas.

My Solution

To answer your questions.. All of my wires were in the correct spot.I think the casing was the issue...

My card works but it just does not have the range that my mac book has for some reason. (Casing?) Spent an hour on with applecare and they were useless...

So i followed zmttoxics advice and got a third party antenna. Hawkings Technology High Gain USB wireless N and it works like a charm!!!

Thanks for all of your help!
