Ok, so I just sold my PowerMac Dual G5 and made good $ on it. I have around $1200.00 in the bank and I think I'm gonna wait a little while before I jump on a new machine since I can work on the one at my office. So I'm wanting to get an intel Mac Pro. So with my ability to be patient. What are your recommendations.

When would be the best time to look for a Mac Pro?

What should I look to get? - New, Refurb, Used, Older brand new model?

Where is the best place to look at that timeframe?

Thanks for the input.

Nice ;) However I'm referring to time in the year. Sometimes there are student discounts or things like that. Does anyone know when is the best time to buy. After a model refresh, during school discount etc...???

After a model refresh is the most amount of sense obviously. There are no discounts as this is a Mac. You can check out the refurb store, that constantly changes. The link I gave you seems to point to February as the earliest one would see a refresh. Also if you are a student, I highly recommend going the route of enrolling as an ADC member (it cost $99) but it bumps the price of the Mac Pro down to ($1999)
