Mac Pro, which to get?

well I've been thinking, and thinking, and thinking some more. And I need a new Mac pro. Well used Mac pro I don't like eBay, so its powermax. I either gonna do this:
Mac Pro
2xQuad Core 2.8GHz Harpertown
2GB RAM (bump it upto four)
8800GT
500GB
2008

Or

Mac pro
1XQuad Core 2.66Ghz Nehalem
3GB RAM (bump upto 6GB)
GT120
640GB
2009

Well the 1st option is a year older, but has 8 cores instead of four. I use FCPX and motion with 1080p video, color correcting and loads of other stuff. Thanks

Well as you say, if you use applications that can really take advantage of eight cores, then go for that.

I also presume the 2008 is less expensive, which is money you can put towards upgrades.
