I have a mac pro from 2009 or there abouts. I just want to share with you a solution I found to my problem of the wireless not working and randomly working and then not working anymore at all. All over a period of a year although at least I had a good run of it working for months straight.
I went out and bought a belkin n150 usb stick, the cheapest in dick smiths in Australia. I found on the insanelymac.com forum a guy called superflex who said he found a realtek chip inside his belkin so I went over to their site and got the latest drivers. Plugged the stick in, install the realtek drivers and restarted. Ran the wireless utility it had installed which is generic but very useful with many options. Added my network to it and walla! A new wifi fix without ordering some fancy one from overseas where the company did not ship to my country anyway.
