Mac Pro with patched graphic anti 5870-boot screen

I have a mac pro 2.1(1.1) with a patched anti 5870 graphic card. Normally it didn't show a boot screen. But if I connect the display with dvi-vga adapter and vga cable it shows the boot screen.
Does anybody know how the display show the boot screen with dvi or hdmi cable. May be that I must have a special driver for that problem.

You'll need to reflash your card with the EFI found in this thread to enable DVI boot screens.
