Mac restarts coming out of sleep

Hi there,
My Mac will go to sleep, when i return and move the mouse, the Mac restarts. I have read that USB devices might be updating in the background so I have been using the mac for 2 weeks without an ipod or hard drive plugged in. That seemed to have worked. Surprisingly today, it restarted coming out of sleep. So now i'm totally miffed!

I'm running Adobe CS3 Photoshop and Illustrator 10.0.1, Mail 2.1.1 and Linotype Font Explorer 1.2.2.

I have just done the combined OS X update which might fix it. The only other thing might be Linotype font explorer trying to do some sort of wild update, even though i have switched this function off in its prefs.
