just got an old SE running and managed to get after dark to work too. Is it better to leave the SE on running the screensaver or to turn it off. I am trying minimize wear and tear on the hardware with multiple start ups on the other hand with it being so old, I'm wondering if leaving it on will wear out the other key parts and fan faster. It's kinda hard to find anybody who can repair it, and I'm trying not to crack the case again. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would be shutting it down and turning it off. If you want to demo it or have like-minded folks dropping in, sure, leave it running for a few hours, but I wouldn't leave it running on a permanent basis.

You'll no doubt find a variation in opinions on this topic - it's always been this way. ;)

Thanks. I tried to search to see if it was asked and answered but didn't turn up anything. Appreciate the reply too, guess I'll be keeping it off. The guy I bought it from advised using it once every week or so.
