On my late-2013 15-inch MacBook Pro running 10.15.7 19H2*, I've been having trouble getting a full backup to complete. It seems that, after a while of me leaving the Mac unattended, it suddenly shuts down (without a corresponding panic.log after the next boot).
I've already changed some energy settings while on Power, hoping those are the culprit: Power Nap off, no sleep when display is off, no hard disk sleep. This is a Mac without a dGPU, so it's also not something related to switching the graphics. Given that there seem to be no logs, I'm having a hard time guessing where to even start.
Kind of running out of ideas short of maybe doing something to force the Mac to stay awake (assuming that's even it), like simulating keyboard input?
*) I would like to finish this backup before installing the Supplemental Update, much less something much bigger like Big Sur.
