installed new drive g5
do I start with a install disk in and "c" down
cant find utilities disk
drive formatted ?????
 
booting g5 new drive

When booting "c" key i get an apple and then a ( / o ) like no enter
wont start installation, fry new drive dont know if formated
should install disk format ???
Might put a second good drive in, start and if i can see new drive go that way ???
 
You do realize that you need either the 'Original install disc' for that computer or a 'Retail version' install disc for a successful installation?
Install discs from other apple models will not work.

Does the disk look like this:

Also to boot directly, you must use a 10.5.x disk or below. Snow leopard and above do not boot.
