Mac started with HD icon on grey screen?

I just started my mac, and it had a icon of my HD and a little arrow under it on a grey screen, had to hit the arrow...then it started into the OS.

Never happened before, should I worry?

That is the startup manager for the computer. You can easily access it by holding down the option key. If it keeps occurring you should reset PRAM by holding down option, command, p, and r keys during start up until the unit reboots itself and that should resolve the issue. Nothing to worry about though.

Check that your Option key isn't sticking down - as this would launch the startup / boot manager, as msevild says above.
