mac starts from mac installer after stopping the installation

Yesterday I inadvertently started an high sierra installation from within high sierra from terminal.
I didn't want to do this so I shut down the Mac and restarted with ALT key to Macos.
The problem now is at reboot it tries to go to install and a forbidden sign is displayed so I need to select the volume with the ALT key to get to desktop.
In startup disk there's only macos sierra, so how do I solve this and get rid of this?
