Welcome! Let's talk about the cool new desktop Apple unveiled today! :D

I'm retiring my late 2013 rMBP and replacing it with the Mac Studio. Couldn't be more excited.

Just got off work - know nothing about today (not different from most days) Is the SSD and/or Memory user upgradeable? $4k for desktop and only 1tb SSD? Is this the time to use the Thunderbolt port for external storage?

Storage and RAM aren't upgradeable at a later date. My build came out to $2519 before tax.

Ahhh education pricing saves some money. I have a daughter in her Junior year at University. Makes that studio $3999 at $3599 close to attainable - will it be TOTL for 4 years? Not enough discount to go 32" though. The 27" is fine.
 
March 30 to early April for me. I saved over half a grand with Apple Education.

My configurations for Mac Studio is M1 Ultra with entry-level GPU, 64GB unified memory, and 8TB storage.

I also got the regular Studio Display, as well as the peripherals, coming earlier.

Ultra 20-core CPU/64-core/2TB - Arrives 21 March - 22 March
Studio Display - Arrives 23 Mar - 30 Mar

Hoping both are delivered at the same time.

Checking this morning and it seems new Ultra orders are quoting delivery from early April now with the lesser 48 core GPU now Apr-May delivery so glad I ordered straight away :)
 
I ordered mine as soon as it was released from the regular Apple Store b/c it was not available in the Education Store (when I was checking). Mine is scheduled for delivery the first week of April. Is it possible to apply Education Discount after purchase or should I cancel the order and re-order from the Education Store?

Cancel and reorder.
 
I ordered an M1 Max 10-core/32-core, 32Gb, 1Tb right after the event.

Shipping says: Mar 18-22.
Status: processing.

Yes, you can get a discount after purchase. At least, this was my experience. I went to the Apple Store with my iPad Pro and the employee verified my student ID, then applied the discount.
 
You guys in the USA are fortunate. I’m looking at May 8-22 here in Asia for a Studio 10/32 64Gb 1TB :confused:

My Studio Max 20/32 32GB 2TB order was charged on Friday, March 11th. My order must be shipping early because it still says the following.Screen Shot 2022-03-12 at 12.48.22 AM.png
