Hey all,

I have a new M2 Max Mac Studio (base model). I was doing a virtual presentation last week on Zoom and my Zoom video was lagging. It would freeze and then 'catch' back up . This happened many times during the 2 hr presentation I gave. It's not an internet issue since I'm on a hardwired 1.5TB line.

At the time, I only Safari open running Canva (that's where my virtual presentation was being run from), Zoom and Outlook.

I was VERY surprised this was happening since I had minimal resources open. Any ideas why this happened?

One of the reason why I switched from my 2020 iMac was because I had noticed that issue on that machine to and figured it was because it was an older, intel chip.

But surely not on Apple's latest and greatest.... Any ideas?

Thanks!

which version of macOS? which version of Zoom? Do you use Private Relay, a VPN or a proxy? Any docks and/or monitor connected? Make sure you use the Apple Silicon version of Zoom (you can check your installed version by right-clicking the Zoom icon in Finder, then select Get Info from the contextual menu and look at its Kind under "General").

otherwise: check the advanced video settings in Zoom. Turn off Use hardware acceleration for receiving video. Run a test.
