Hi all, can anyone help me settle on a choice?

I'm looking to upgrade my current 2019 27" iMac (Intel i9, 40gb RAM, 8gb Raedon Pro Vega) to a Mac Studio.

Professionally, I do a lot of 3D modelling, rendering and vector line drawing in Rhino 3D, also some photoshop (all uses about 15gb RAM at any one time, with everything else going on it usually max's out at around 25gb).

After much deliberation so far it's come down to these two choices:

1. Mac Studio M2 Ultra 2023 - Used Refurbished (Reputable Seller I've used before)

24 Core CPU - 60 Core OR 76 Core GPU - 32 Core Neural Engine - 64GB RAM - 1TB SSD

£2500-£2600 (3350-3500 dollars)

2. Mac Studio M4 Max - New

16 Core CPU - 40 Core GPU - 16 Core Neural Engine - 48GB RAM - 1TB SSD

£2800 (3750 dollars)

There's not much in price difference, but the spec themselves are. I know that the newer M4 Max technically has less CPU/GPU on paper but the M4 Max cores themselves are nevertheless enhanced and more powerful than the M2 Ultra Cores? Is it a case of quality over quantity or vice versa?

I know that whatever I get will likely wipe the floor with my current setup and I think the 48gb RAM would be sufficient for now, but would 64gb better for the sake of a more future proof setup? Then again, the 64gb model is already 2 years old... I'd still hope a 2023 machine would last a good few years until any planned obsolescence starts to creep in.

My mind is simply torn. Anyone who could provide further insight as to which of these would be the more optimum setup for what I'd be doing, it would be much appreciated! thank you in advance!
