Apologies if this isn't the right section.

I have a Macbook Pro, specs and type below in signiture (5,5). I live in the United Kingdom which means our DVDs are Region 2. There is a DVD that I would like to buy, however the trouble is that it is a Region 1 DVD. I know that this means it will usually only play on a multi-region or US DVD player, however I am unsure as to if it would work on my mac?

Is the super drive able to play any region? Sorry for such a basic question, any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You need to be sure you buy a Region Free DVD for the Mac

I would check the manufacturers specs to see if the drive is shipped Region Free.

I would also download and install RegionX which will keep the DVD Region Free while allowing you to reset the drive numerous times to your and/or other Regions.
