I'm using my iMac 27-inch 2019 model with macOS Mojave v10.14.6. I downloaded the macOS Sur (~12 GB), followed the instructions to install on my macintosh HD, and was prompted with a window to reboot.

This is when the problem happens. Upon rebooting the iMac screen showed the apple logo for about 3 seconds (without the progress bar) and shut down immediately.

I had to press cmd + R and use time machine in Utilities to use my latest screenshotted time machine, so I am back with Mojave. Decided to install the macOS Sur package for the second time, and the SAME problem happened.

Any idea what is the root cause of the problem, and how to solve it? Couldn't find much information when I googled my problem.

I am certain I have more than enough storage space (1.72TB available of 2.12 TB) on my HD so this is not a concern.

Thanks!
