Hi Chronoman, welcome to the forum. If any recovery program is going to help you here, it's probably Alsoft Disk Warrior. I've never had occasion to use it myself, but have seen it suggested for these types of issues more times than I can remember, especially for recovery under Mac OS 9. The version you need is 2.1.1, and you can find it for download from the Macintosh Garden site; however some comments there suggest that you'll need a license key. Apparently you can still get these from Alsoft, which is still a going concern and continues to update Disk Warrior, but you'll probably have to pay for it. I have no idea what that costs. At the bottom of the page on the link I provided to Alsoft, you'll see a way to contact them, that's probably a good place to start.

The only other thing I could suggest is to drop in to the Mac OS 9 Lives! forums. It's a pretty fair bet someone there has experienced the same difficulties you're having, they might have something useful to suggest. I'm afraid that's all the help I myself can be. Good luck!
