I have been trying to copy some of my DVDs , as their quality is not good. I have used Mactheripper before, and it has worked fine.
However, I came to copy 2 DVDs today - Troy and The Last Samurai - and when it copies them, I get the wrong language! There does not seem to be any option to chose which language to copy - anyone help me please?

I've got the same problem. I can demuex to the correct language, but that's it. Anyone know the answer to this?

Are you sure you didn't change the language when compressing it? Because I know you can select different languages in dvd2onex.

I just used MTR and opened my VOB files to check them. That's when I discovered that the language was wrong. I didn't even get to DVD2onex.

Well I hope this helps so here it goes....it may not be anything your doing wrong. This is in part of Copyright (yes just do a search on other forums) as this happened to me a few times. Long story short made a few backups for last Christmas when all the family is around (kids and dvds need I say more). I did everything right when what the...Spanish  It's weird but I had to choose the Spanish to get English. The next one was directors commentary to get English to play. All that to find others that had the exact same troubles with the same titles. It has been rare but has happened.
If you try full backup and it happens try movie/feature only and see what happens as you should have a choice what to select. If you can give more info...what version (MTR) along with OS? Are you in Europe or US or really what region? Hope this helps.

MTR 2.6.6
OSX 10.4.2
I'm in the US, which is region 1 - I think.

The first thing I tried was Main Feature Extraction. I checked the VOB file and it was in French. I then tried Title - Chapter Extraction, just one chapter to test. Again, it was in French. I then tried Title - Chapter Extraction and demuxed the streams. The AC3 file was the English track, but it's such a pain to sort them out and marry them back together again.

I didn't try Full Disc Extraction, but I'll give that a shot now. I just didn't know if there was a way to select the language if I'm not demuxing the streams.

I am having the same problem. I am quite noob to this piece of software so please be easy with me if this has already been explained in previous. I just cant get to grips with trying to work the language settings out for mac the ripper.
I only want to rip certain episodes of a dvd and i am using title - chaper extraction. The extraction works perfectly, and then when i go to view in VLC in plays in nothing but French? Is there a certain few changes i need to do with the software or do i have to do some tweeking elsewhere?

i'm bumping this question.

i am attempting to just take out one chapter from a DVD, but when I do the chapter extraction, it gives me the video that i want, but the audio is the director's commentary. when i do the DMUX and un-check the director's commentary, it gives me a folder with a .ac3 and .m2v file, which are the correct video and audio, but how can i merge these into a .VOB file?

Mac the ripper 2.6.6

I am kind of new in the mac world and backing up DVD's world….have used Mac The Ripper and in the sequence handbrake to have my own dvd's on my iphone, however I am having issues with two DV's (Matrix & 300), both with wrong language (French and Spanish).

Any advise on what do I need to do to have correct language (English) backed up?

I have a brande new IMac, so most updated systems….please help!
