Mac the ripper? why does it take so long

i am running mac the ripper and it takes a very long time am i doing something wrong or is this normal?

Please be specific. "A very long time" doesn't help anyone to solve your problem.

If it takes you 2-3 hours, then it's normal.

What do you mean by very long, 5 minutes, an hour, 12 hours?

I ripped a 1.5 hour movie the other night and it took about 30 minutes. Note that I just ripped the main feature, mtr said it was 6.75 gb or so.

Unless you want to make the quality much worse, there is no way to make it take much faster. Especially if you are thinking in the ballpark of around 15 minutes.

I'm not familiar with Mac the Ripper, but maybe someone could walk you through changing the quality settings to get more speed out of the encoding?
