I just performed a migration from my old Mac to a new one using my latest time machine backup which was completed immediately before. I have not used the old one or new one since the migration. Both systems are running Yosemite.

Now I when I go to About This Mac -> Storage I see the below (old -> new):

Others: 219.5 GB -> 214.85 GB
Photos: 193.4 GB -> 187.05 GB
Audio: 172.95 GB -> 169.28 GB
Movies: 136.03 GB -> 115.26 GB
Backups: 0MB -> 2.9 MB

Can anyone provide a possible explanation for this?
Also is there any better way to do a comparison to ensure all the data was successfully migrated to the new Mac?
