Finally got my Macbook Pro connected to HDTV via HDMI - sound and all. Then the TV pic began to go off and on. Rechecked the display settings. What could have gone wrong? Coming out of Mac on Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter into unused HDMI in on TV. Seems it could be in resolution - but is went through all with same result.

What TV model do you use, what MDP/TB to HDMI adapter do you have and have you tried the other HDMI ports yet?
TV is 52 Sharp - few months old. Adapter is not branded. Got it via a web outlet. High quality HDMI cable. Have not tried other ports. It was working so well - then blink. Not sure if I answered your question on adapter. It is about 8 - Thunderbolt on one end, standard HDMI on other.
