Mac used as workstation on mini server?

I have Mac OSX - ver 10.6.8 and I'm considering the mac mini server. Questions: can my mac computer be used as a workstation for the mini server? Can I move the programs from my mac to the mini server?

I also want to run both mac & pc programs on th mini server.

Is there help in making this converstion?

Why exactly do you "want to move programs to your server" ? What do you mean by "run mac & pc applications on the server" ?

It doesn't sound like you need a server at all. You can run mac & windows programs on your workstation.
