I don't really see anything in that article saying they're smarter. More liberal, more creative, yes - but smarter? Hmmm.

I've supported both, and as far as I can tell the Mac users make mistakes as much as the PC crowd. I think it boils down to both PC and mac users are pretty much trained on using their machine for a few specific tasks/jobs. When it comes to figuring out anything outside their "field of expertise" they're lost.

Of course, I'd say the crowd here doesn't fall under that category. :)

I am amused by the irony of people believing an article claims they're smarter when in fact it doesn't, and it's not even that long of an article to read.

I loved where it said Mac users are more attractive and smell better than PC users.

No offense to the initiator of the thread, but I'm getting tired of this argument.

I've used both operating systems (and Linux/Solaris/HP-UX) every day for the past 10 years; both professionally as an IT Pro and personally as a PC enthusiast.

I'm pleased with both, require both, and I think I should mention that I haven't had a single problem with the Windows operating system since Windows98 1st Edition. And I think it's absurd to think that Apple wouldn't suffer from most of the same pitfalls & hardships experienced by these "dumb" Windows users if the corporations swapped market share.

You don't like Windows? Fine - no one cares... stop behaving like a child. After all, as much as I like Apple computers and their respective OS; most of the Apple users I know purchased an over-priced, three-thousand dollar machine to "check email and surf the web". I wouldn't necessarily call them "smarter".

Well I'd regard open-mindedness, intellectual curiosity and imagination as indicators of intelligence.

Maybe the Mac users have just done a more sophisticated analysis of the article than mere mortals are capable of ;)

Given the direction this thread is taking, and its initial flawed premise, I'm ordering everyone to abandon ship with immediate effect.

Take to the lifeboats; this thread is scuttled.
