couldnt you just update the firmware or somthing?

There are no PC video cards with Mini Display ports .. thats why i dont buy a pc one

the ACD works well with my imac. but i have a older mac book pro the white intel one. but of course apple hasnt released any mini dvi to minidisplay port adapters.. not sure they even will.. so since i cant use it on my macbook and only on my imac.. why not try to get some use out of it on my pc.. hence why i ask. :)

This isn't possible.

What happens when you boot your Mac into Windows again? What about using "PC" video cards on a Mac under Windows?
Apple's EFI has a BIOS Emulator built into it. That's the part that allows Windows to actually run on the machine. Which is why Boot Camp isn't needed if using a separate drive. ;)

Hacks get away with it, as both the board and device use BIOS. Then an emulator, such as Vanilla Kernel, is used to simulate EFI for OS X.

Are we 100% sure now that it's impossible to go from DVI to Mini DisplayPort, even with external power or something like that for the conversion?

I just want to know so as not to inadvertently give people false hope about a future adapter.
The last I saw, they were "experiencing technical difficulties". It's been a while though.

Can anyone provide any clarification/update?

Thank you for proving my point. :D
It's not quite that easy though, as I'm sure you're aware. ;)

Otherwise, no one would have to flash PC cards to work under OS X. :D

Besides, the OP was asking about using a MAC card in a PC! :D :p
Definitely a NO, as the PC would look at it as "WTF is this?". :p :p

When was this a thread about running a video card under OS X?

Or even on a Mac...
