I want to buy new machine for personal use. I'm more interested in buying mac but have few concerns
1. Comparability with other operating system
2. How can I open and edit ppt, doc, xls files
3. Multimedia connectivity

Please guide me which one to buy ????

1. A Mac can run other operating systems quite easily, either via virtual machine or natively via dual or triple or something boot.
2. MS Office is available for Mac OS X, as is OpenOffice and Pages, Numbers and Keynote can open those files files too, though they will probably be formatting issues.
3. Most Macs, except the MacBook Air have HDMI ports, but even those Airs can connect to external TVs or displays via MDP to HDMI adapters.

What I always say is you can buy a mac and it will last you three times, but is three times the price or you can buy a PC and it only cost 1/3 the price, but will only last you 1/3 as long. You get what you pay for and it depends on what operating system you like.

Either can run Windows and Linux, but only Apple hardware can run OS X.
Sure, there are hacks, but they are less than reliable in the long term.

Flexibility goes to the Mac.
