After googling for god damn ages I've basically worked out that all fully Mac compatible HD webcams are rather expensive.

The Logitech C615 is the one i've settled on at £60 but is there anything else that is cheaper and works just as well on Skype mac?

I've currently been borrowing a mates MS HD webcam and using it in VMWare because it's waayyyy overexposed otherwise.

Cheers!

Well, to be honest, it's irrelevant anyway because in theory I could be using the MBP in clamshell mode and therefore can't use that anyway ;)

But yes, this is for my Mac Pro.

I got a Logitech one recently for a Mac Mini. I am away from home at the moment or i'd like up the model number. Its does 720HD I believe. There are Mac Drivers but not all the capabilities of the Windows software that ships with it. Still works fine.

I use an old Logitech 9000 I've had for a few years. Its a terrific camera.

If the OP uses an Apple Cinema Display like most Mac Pro owners, then his monitor has a built-in iSight camera.

But I don't ;)

Looking at some creative cameras now, no AF which makes them a lot cheaper, and I disabled it on my mates one anyway.
