.mac webmail problem

why do i keep getting this message "Did not receive any response from application. It is possible that the application does not exist, or that the requested url is incorrect." when i try and get into the mail section of mac.com?

Might want to give it a few days

They may be doing the me.com changeover. Hard to say since .mac is not all that reliable in general.

I can log in fine to .Mac and view my emails.

I doubt your problem is related to MobileMe - I'd find it unacceptable for Apple to prevent users from accessing their Mail on a paid service, which is being updated over the next few days.
