why do i keep getting this message "Did not receive any response from application. It is possible that the application does not exist, or that the requested url is incorrect." when i try and get into the mail section of mac.com?
I doubt your problem is related to MobileMe - I'd find it unacceptable for Apple to prevent users from accessing their Mail on a paid service, which is being updated over the next few days.
