I have a G4 Dual 500 running two 200GB hard drives (let's call them no.1 and no.2) connected via Sonnet ATA133 card. Everything worked fine.

Now I wanted to replace the two drives with two new larger Samsung HD400LD drives. To do so, I disconnected no.2 (a CCC clone to no.1 for backup), hooked up a new Samsung drive and used CCC to clone from he old no.1 to this new no.2

Now, I can't boot from the new no.2 drive. All I get is the blinking question mark and eventually it will continue booting from the old no.1 drive.

- Booting from the old no.1 drive I can see and select the new no.2 drive in the start-up disk selection window.
- I have run Disk utility to check/fix permissions and repair disc.Everything seems fine.
- The new no.2 is mounted on the dektop showing the correct size.
- Starting with the ALT key held, I only get the old no.1 drive to select from. The new no.2 does not show.

In addition, I have in the meantime done the following:

- zeroed the new no.2 disc and tried cloning again: same result
- installed completely new system from the install DVD including erasing the drive: same result
- verified jumper settings (old no.1 is master, new no.2 is slave)

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Stephan
