I currently use iCloud Drive to sync files across several Mac and iOS devices. This works well among my Macs but I occasionally have to force a download of the Documents folder to get the iOS devices up to date. I can deal with that. I also have Windows 11 PCs I'd like to sync. I've used iCloud for Windows with reasonable success, but I'd like to avoid installing that on multiple WinPCs. My question is this: Can I set up MS OneDrive on one WinPC to sync the iCloud folder into OneDrive? If I could do that, then I'd only need iCloud on one WinPC. Other Windows devices would have the iCloud folder available in OneDrive. If I made a change to a file on a WinPC, it would be saved to the iCloud folder on OneDrive, which would then be synced back to the Macs. At least that's my crazy-arse theory. Before I try this, I'm curious to see if anyone thinks it would work or if anyone has actually tried this. Thanks for your input!

I've never had a positive experience with iCloud syncing. It's consistently been slow and unreliable, especially when files are updated on multiple devices and cause conflicts. In contrast, I've been using Resilio Sync for a while now, and it's the most robust syncing tool I've found (I've tried many). It's cross-platform, but you do need to install it on each device.

That should work. And you could do the OneDrive <> iCloud syncing on a Mac if the amount of data is modest - both OneDrive and iCloud would take up space on the Mac's disk. Whether Windows or Mac you would need, as well as choosing a sync tool, to make sure that both iCloud and OneDrive have all files materialised - some sync tools will do this for you.
