Mac Won't Boot Up. Will repairing with cd delete any files?

I held down the power button while my mac was booting up and now it wont boot. will repairing with the original cd delete any files?

Using the "repair disk" is non-destructive and will not delete any files
It may not solve your problem, but it won't delete files

Are you able to boot from your OS X install disk? If so, you should try to repair from Disk Utility within the install disk.
