Recently bought an old Power Mac 7500/100. Running System 8.1. When I try to install games with multiple floppies..when it says to instert disk 2, I do so. Then the disk is ejected and I am asked to insert disk 1 again, I do so. Then the whole system locks up and I have to force the install to stop. Anyone know why this is happening and how i can fix it? This has happened with 3 different programs.

Thanks in advance.

Copying the contents of the foppies to a folder on the HD, and installing from there doesn't work?

Or:

Have you tried making disk images of the floppies on your HD with Disk Copy?
Once you've done that, you can mount them and try installing then. No need for the "real" floppies in the drive that way.

Good luck.

Wow. This is my first time using a mac really and I had no idea that disk copy even existed. It worked and the game is installed. Still I wonder why it did what it did with the real floppies.

nice gaming system you have there -

.

But then again, the oldest games are always the best (ie Original Mario).
