This is a more detailed version of a question posted previously:

I have an ATEN/Prolific USB-Serial adapter, which I need to work in Windows (XPSP3). Works perfectly in bootcamp, but when running Fusion in OSX Fusion can't connect to it, which produced the following Fusion log:

Dec 13 10:28:01.336: vmx| USBG: CONNREQ: Dequeued head request after 438 ms for [name:prolific\ Technology\ Inc. vid:067b pid:2303 path:10/15/2/4/1 speed:full family:vendor]
Dec 13 10:28:01.337: vmx| USBGM: USBDeviceOpenSeize failed (e00002c5)
Dec 13 10:28:01.338: vmx| USBGM: Connect failed for fa2410005572008

Current versions: OS X 10.5.6, Fusion 2.0.1 (same problem in previous versions).

There is apparently something running on the Mac that will not release the ATEN/Prolific hardware, but I can't fathom what that is.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
