I recently had some problems with our wireless connection where none of my housemates could access the network, we rang up the ISP and they managed to fix it somehow and we now have a new password for the wireless network.

The password worked fine for my friends laptops running windows but wouldn't work immediately for my Mac. I eventually got it to work by going to system preferences and and diagnostics and changing the security to a WEP 28-bit hex password. It then connects to my network fine.

The problem is, whenever I switch off my Mac or put it to sleep it forgets the network. I have it set to remember it and it used to be fine before the password changed but now it says that none of my recognised networks are available and every time I switch it on I have to go into system preferences and use diagnostics to switch the password to a hex password for it to work. I have checked the box to remember in keychain and added my network to the list of preferred networks but it just won't seem to pick it up.

It's not a major issue as I can still connect, just a bit annoying and I don't understand why it would do this!

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it to remember the network? Thanks!
