I'm very impressed. It was only 2 weeks ago I got MacAddict Jan 04's and now I got the Feb edition and it's not even Jan yet!

I'm guessing they rushed Feb issue sortof to get ready for MacWorld and CES show.

What new in this issue:

Indepth article about some of the issues some early adopters had with Panther.

411 on all the different types of memory cards.

Indepth article about upgrading your PM G5 and G4, iMac, eMac and even abit on the PB.

Indepth article about Adobes new CS suite.

Review section:
iBook G4
Toast 6 Titanium
Photoshop CS
Indesign CS
HP Scanjet 4670(the one you can see through)
Eudora 6.0.1
Toshiba PDR-5300 digital camera
Canon i860 Photo Printer
EverQuest
Maxtor 250GB OneTouch Ex. HD
Both Apples Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse
Tungsten T3
Warrior Kings
MasterWriter
Wacom Graphire3
Nostromo n52 Speedpad
EZQuest Boa Slim DVD-RW/CD-RW
Pyro A/V Link
Belkin bluetooth optical mouse
Iogear USB 2.0 microhub
M-Audio Ozone USB midi keyboard
Another War
Zoo Tycoon

How to do section:
Shows how to pimp out your G5 and G4.

Troubleshooting Terminal.

Prioritizing Your Processor Power.

Securing Your Mail.

Creating a MacAddict fourms reader.

And thats it.

I think the best parts are the Adobe section and the Mac upgrades section.
But this issue does looked abit rushed.

The games on the disc are pretty good too but I rather have gotten a Halo demo instead but oh well it's free.

I'm starting to think MacAddict dist. must be on the East coast because I seem to always get issues pretty quickly. Then again I did buy a 2 yr. sub. so that may have something to do with it.

I have feeling March issue will be out before the 3rd week of Jan.

Why do magazines insist on putting out issue so far in advance? I mean it's like a competition to see who can roll out the first freakin issue of a new month. Soon it'll be January, and we will see magazines dated April 2004 on stands.

It's kind of annoying.

Anyhow, back to my bloody mary.

Free MacAddict anyone?

Anyone that wants a free subscription to MacAddict magazine, click here.

You have to fill out a brief questionaire, and be sure to opt-out of the spam options (I would use an email account that you don't care about getting spam in), but you do get a free subscription.

I actually don't care because I like having a new Mac mag to read almost every 2-3 weeks. The only time I even bought MacWorld this yr. was because I didn't have my MacAddict yet.

heres a q on the free subscriptions though...will they be spamming me at my business address? i avoided finishing it because i dont want to supply the address of my store, since we get enough junk as it is...

Just set up a junk email with yahoo or something. Use that for all questionable web forms such as this one. I ain't putting my work email or my .mac email anywhere near this website.

I got mine Yesterday. I used to get the CD but they stopped sending the CD and I like the CD like the staff vid and that freeware I am on dial up and the software the put on the disk keeps me from spending download time Oh Well gotta go Wambulance is here

Thats weird..I would call them because this issue had some nice free iPhoto utilities and couple freeware games.
I love the two freeware games of PacMac and Bubble Pop.
Had nice screensave app that allows you play QT movies for your screensaver which is cool.
Alot of cool music apps.

Hey, speaking of the February issue of MacAddict, did any of you try the Speed Downloader 2 utility that came on The Disc?

It seems like a pretty worthwhile thing, but I can't for the life of me make Safari use it instead of its default downloader.

I'm curious to see if anyone's had similar experience with it.

You can pick up a free version of it here:
http://www.yazsoft.com/

If any of you have tried it, I'd be interested to hear about your successes / failures. And, for that matter, if any of you would be wiling to give it a shot now and tell me what you think of it, I'd be much obliged.

I hope I'm not the only one having problems with it... hm. Think this'd be worth making a separate thread?

Anyway. thanks.
