Just picked up on Amazon a Macally 3.5" USB 3.0 Aluminum Enclosure - NSA-S350U3 - to speed up my old WD 1TB Green hard drive. Once I pried apart the old WD enclosure the installation was very easy. The aluminum looks much nicer next to the mini compared to the plastic enclosure that the drive came with. Also got a 1 foot Startech cable, even though the drive comes with a nice 3 foot cable. One of the things that attracted me to this model was the simple USB A-B cable connectors, which seem much more sturdy than the mini ones that accompany my portable drive and some of the desktop drives. I'm not a huge fan of the red glowing activity light, I might end up disconnecting it. I was pretty happy with the read/write speeds, considering I used to get 30 MB/s max and its a 5 year old drive.
