My Mom has a MacBook 2 Ghz core duo, that's getting a bit old even for her uses. I figured I'd max out the ram from crucial and give her a SSD with Snow Leopard on it and that would speed up the machine considerably.
What I would like to do is put in a OCZ Vertex 2 drive but I just wanted to make sure it would work. I've never done this before, so I figure I get a USB holder to attach the drive to and then install Snow Leopard on that hard drive and then install it?

Thanks!

Thanks for your quick reply. I wasnt aware of that, would it be better to go
with an intel?

Personally, I would just upgrade the RAM, that will likely be enough. There should be new SSDs early next year with lower price tags so you might want to wait for those
