So a client dropped off a mid 2010 13" Macbook with me today. I was told to keep it as he didn't need it (Since it "magically" broke).
This is the symptom:
I connect the magsafe and the green light turns on. When I plug in the battery, it wont charge it (The green light shows instead of the orange light). The computer also doesn't power on (Fan wont start and no audio/video).
The way the laptop broke kinda seems odd. They told me they left the computer on for 2 weeks and when they came back, it was dead. There are no water damage to the board and no visible destroyed pad(s) or chip(s).
When I do check PPBUS_G3H I get 12.5v (Schematic says 12.6v) <--- This feels normal. What should I check next? How can I check if the CPU or GPU are dead (I don't want to reball as its really unnecessary)?
PS: Genius bar wants $$$$$ for a "replacement" board since the "motherboard is fried".
