My machine started booting slow one day, and now when it boots up it will freeze then shut down, and smells "hot". When plugged in it used to work, not it is not working at all with the power cord supplied. it will not run on a fully charged battery either. however when I plug it in with a new power cord it boots up, and starts the freezing random shut down nonsense again.

I'm thinking either the magsafe power board, CPU fan, or both. Never had anything spilled in it.

What say you?

The place to start is the fan... make sure its runing... otherwise I would bring it to Apple to diagnose...
