Hi,

I have had a white 13.3" MacBook for just over 3 years now, and have no problems at all with connecting to the internet via airport with it.

I have recently moved into a student house and the ethernet wiring that runs through the house is damaged, therefore forcing me to run my two computers off wireless internet.

I have bought a Linksys WUSB600N dongle for my Windows 7 machine, and it runs great on 802.11n.

However, i am having some difficulties getting my MacBook to accept this connection. The MacBook (running 10.6.1) will connect to the hotspot no problem, but a few seconds after it connects an exclamation mark pops up over the Airport icon in the menu bar, saying it is connected but no internet connection is available. I have checked network preferences and there aren't any alternate DNS servers set up or anything like that that might prevent me surfing the web.

Any ideas?

I am also having the same problem with my iPhone 3G, running 3.1, it has remembered the (full strength) network fine, but still prefers to connect over 3G. The only reason this is annoying me is that i have an app that has an update over 10MB atm, which i can't update due to the iPhone insisting on using the 3G connection.

Cheers in advance for any pointers!

Dave
