I recently purchased a 2.8GHZ 4GB 15" MacBook pro from a friend. He upgraded to the i7 and this poor MacBook pro was thoroughly beat up on the lid. It is currently missing glass, and the hinge is loose.
The only other problem is this stupid screen flickering. It only occurs when using the 9400M under charger, or battery. I really would like a fix for this, because I'm fine with always running the 9600GT (does not happen while using it) but my battery get's essentially cut in a third. If I took it to Apple once I'm done repairing it, and give it a new display glass, do you think Apple will repair it? I don't think I've voided the Warranty...
Anyways here are some pictures. This is going to be my new main laptop.

Hard to say. The screen flickering is a known issue with a standard repair but Apple can be a bit to the letter when it comes to abuse outside normal parameters.

Grr....
I'll see if I can convince them. Using some tech charm. I think it really depends on what people you get at the store...
