Hi Everyone,
I joined today and this is my first post.
My macbook received a surge or spark from a faulty magsafe charger and on restart no longer recognises an attached battery, but runs fine off DC. Battery was replaced with no improvement, SMC, PRAM etc. also reset and now a couple of months since the fault began.
Diagnosis at local apple supplier suggests DC-in board replacement, but does this make sense?

i.e. Does the Magsafe DC-in board split power between the battery charging board and regular DC-direct power, or does it deliver DC to the logic board where it is then split (meaning the fault would have to be on the logic board).
What would be the quickest way to test this with an multimeter, i.e. what are the correct voltages i should be finding on the magsafe board?
Is it typical for a magsafe DC-in board to fail in this way?

Finally, are there any previous threads that already answer my question?

Many thanks
Isaac
