MacBook 2.0GHz alum or older MacBook 2.4 GHz pro

I am looking at both the new 13" 2.0 GHz MacBook from apple.com for $1299 and the 15" 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro (prev gen) on amazon.com for $1450 shipped after $150 rebate.

Any thoughts on which to go with? Which will have better overall performance (not worried much about 3D rendering, this will be used primarily for programming and development)?

The MBP will have better overall performance. However the video card used in these models is known to have higher than average failure rates.

There was a fault in the manufacturing process that is leading a lot of them to die prematurely.
