Hi,

I have a 2.0GHz MacBook (MA700LL/A) with 1GB RAM and 80GB HDD. Naturally, it runs as fast as an asthmatic snail hurtling through peanut butter and I'd like to upgrade.

Q1. The specs say that I can only upgrade to 2 x 1GB RAM. Can I go more than this or am I limited to 2GB total?

Q2. What is the upper limit for an HDD upgrade for this Mac? I am aiming for 500GB and assume that a standard 2.5" SATA should suffice? Also, is 7,200rpm an option to eke out a bit more speed?

Q3. Is SuperDuper the best way of transferring everything from the 80GB to the new disk. Does this copy the O/S as well or do I need to re-install OSX?

Thanks in anticipation.

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum RAM:

There is no limit on capacity. Any 2.5" drive will work, either HDD (any speed) or SSD.

I prefer Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable clone of your drive on the new one, then simply swap the drives.

Thanks for the prompt response. Wallet at the ready .. cheers
