I have a macbook 2.1. The battery will not charge. I plug it in and the cord goes to green right away, but when I look at state of charge it says zero. It was working well. The cat ran across the keyboard just before this started. Any ideas?

For power or charging issues, try resetting the SMC. If that doesn't help, check the MagSafe connection to make sure the connection is clean and secure. Make sure your battery is securely connected. If none of that helps, try using another charger, if you have one available. The most likely culprits are the adapter and connection, the battery itself, or, in more rare instances, your logic board.

The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions, including tips for maximizing battery performance. If you haven’t already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.
