Macbook 2.4ghz 2gb ram runs slow?

Hey guys,

I got a 2.4ghz 2gb ram 160gb hdd


but latley its been running slow as hell safari hows the circle when i open many tabs and its annoying as well as firefox and most programs..


what is wrong i tried the activity monitor it still says i have 1.19gb ram left so nothing is draining it
